For the second quarter ended June 30, Magellan recorded net sales of $1.22 billion, up 11% from the same period last year. From the second quarter of 2020 to the second quarter of 2021, the company’s net income dropped by $53.6 million, resulting in a net loss of $6.5 million. The payer reported a $32.3 million segment profit, down 43.3 percent from 2020. The merger between Magellan and Centene is expected to close in the second part of this year, according to the company.
