Chris Coffey has been named plan president of Molina Healthcare of Texas by Molina Healthcare. Coffey comes to Molina with 20 years of experience as president and chief executive officer of a Medicaid-managed care organization and in similar capacities at health plans serving Medicaid members. “His decades of experience will drive quality results for our valued state and provider partners, members, and the communities we serve daily,” said Marc Russo, executive vice president of health plans of Molina Healthcare. CMS stated on Aug. 30 that Ellen Montz, Ph.D., will serve as deputy administrator and director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. Dr. Montz is leaving Virginia’s Medicaid department, where she served as chief deputy and top health economist.
