Premier health insurer and healthcare services company Humana Inc. has announced that Andrew Agwunobi, MD, will be the new president of its home solutions business. Dr Agwunobi, who is presently the interim president at the University of Connecticut and UConn Health System CEO, has a 20-year operational experience with for-profit and nonprofit organizations. “Andy is just the person we need for this critical Humana role leading our home solutions business,” Humana CEO Bruce Broussard said.

According to a recent study, four American health insurers are among the top ten global insurers by net premiums issued. According to the study, all four of the top ten U.S. companies reported double-digit growth in net premiums written in 2020. Because of its key skills in clinical expertise, innovative technology, and data and health information, UnitedHealth Group is ranked first on the list. Centene is the fourth place winner, with an almost 50 percent rise. Anthem is ranked fifth, while Kaiser Foundation Group of Health Plans is ranked sixth.

Strive Health, a renal care provider, and Regence are cooperating on a care package for Medicare Advantage enrollees with advanced chronic or end-stage kidney disease. The initiative will assist the 16,000 Regence members who have qualifying kidney disease, according to a recent press statement. “Strive Health’s comprehensive and proactive care approach will help us deliver on our goal to make health care better, simpler, and more affordable for our members and customers”, said Marion Couch, Regence’s CMO and senior vice president of healthcare solutions.
