Chubb Limited is paying.75 billion in cash for rival insurer Cigna Corp’s Asia Pacific and Turkey divisions. In 2022, the transaction is likely to be finalized. Cigna’s Accident & Health and Life business in South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, as well as Cigna’s 51 percent participation in a joint venture in Turkey, will be acquired by Chubb. The purchase is expected to boost Chubb’s core operating EPS and return on equity by 6 percent and 55 basis points, respectively, for the full year 2023.
