Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is teaming up with Boulder Care to expand its telehealth addiction treatment network across the state of Ohio. According to the Sept. 14 statement, Anthem’s Ohio employer-based, individual, and Medicare Advantage plan members will be able to use Boulder Care’s digital treatment for substance use disorders, which promotes a value-based care model. A care team consisting of a clinician, a peer recovery coach, and a care advocate and case manager will be available to patients. The diverse group also addresses a long-standing issue in Ohio: a scarcity of addiction drugs and prescribers.
