According to the State of Reform, Aetna Better Health will provide all community supports specified by the California Health Care Services Department. The supports are 14 in lieu of services options that the government launched in April as cost-effective alternatives to Medicaid services. Aetna Better Health, for example, was “highly encouraged” to provide some or all of the community supports. According to Verne Brizendine, CEO of Aetna Effectively Health of California, “the services give payers and cooperating providers greater possibilities to better address unique situations that play a role in deciding member health.”
